Where do the valuations come from?
Each value is blended from two sources: completed auction results from the major houses, and live asking prices from classified marketplaces. The app weighs recent, like-for-like cars most heavily, so a valuation reflects what comparable cars are actually selling and listing for now.
How often do values update?
Market data refreshes regularly as new results and listings come in, so valuations move with the market rather than sitting still between annual guide updates.
Which cars are supported?
The focus is classics and modern classics — the cars enthusiasts actually track for value. If a model you own isn't covered yet, email me and let me know; it helps me decide what to add next.
Is my data private?
Yes. Your garage is yours. Capital Garage doesn't sell your personal data, and the cars you add are used to run the app for you, not shared with anyone else. The full detail is in the privacy policy below.
How do I delete my account and data?
You can delete your account from within the app, which removes your account and the portfolio data tied to it. If you'd rather I handle it, email support@capital-garage.com from your account address and I'll erase it for you.

The short version
Capital Garage is a classic car portfolio tracker, built and operated by Alex Hoyle ("we", "us", "our"). We collect the minimum needed to run the app for you: an account, the cars you choose to track, and basic technical information. We don't sell your personal data. You can export or delete it at any time.
Who is responsible for your data
Alex Hoyle is the data controller for Capital Garage. For any privacy question or request, contact support@capital-garage.com.
What we collect
- Account information — the email address or sign-in identifier you use to create your account, so your garage is saved and synced to you.
- Your garage — the cars you add and any details you enter about them (make, model, spec, notes). This is content you create, stored so the app can value and display it for you.
- Technical and usage information — basic data needed to operate and troubleshoot the app, such as device type, app version, and error logs.
Market data shown in the app — auction results and classified listings — is aggregated from publicly available sources and is not personal information about you.
What we do with it
- Run the core service: save your garage, calculate valuations, and show comparable sales and price history.
- Keep the app working: diagnose problems, prevent abuse, and keep your account secure.
- Respond to you when you contact support.
We do not use your personal data for advertising, and we do not sell it.
Legal basis
Where UK and EU data protection law applies, we process your data to perform the service you've asked for (your account and garage), to pursue legitimate interests in keeping the app secure and reliable, and, where required, with your consent. You can withdraw consent at any time.
Who we share it with
We keep sharing to the minimum needed to run the app, and only with providers who process data on our behalf under contract:
- Hosting and database — Supabase, which stores your account and garage data securely on our behalf.
- Sign-in provider — if you sign in with Apple, Apple handles authentication; we receive only the identifier needed to recognise your account.
We may also disclose data where the law requires it. We never sell your data or share it for others' marketing.
Where your data is stored
Your data may be processed on servers outside your country, including by the providers above. Where data leaves the UK or EEA, it's protected by appropriate safeguards such as standard contractual clauses.
How long we keep it
We keep your account and garage data for as long as your account is active. When you delete your account, the associated personal data is removed, except where we're required to keep limited records by law.
Your rights
You can ask us to access, correct, export, or delete your personal data, and to restrict or object to certain processing. You can delete your account and its data directly in the app, or email support@capital-garage.com. If you're in the UK or EU and believe your data has been mishandled, you also have the right to complain to your local data protection authority.
Security
We use reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your data, including encryption in transit and access controls on the backend. No system is perfectly secure, but we take protecting your information seriously.
Children
Capital Garage is not directed at children and is intended for adults managing vehicles they own. We don't knowingly collect data from children.
Changes to this policy
If we make material changes, we'll update this page and the effective date above. Significant changes will be communicated in the app or by email where appropriate.
